Dried Flower Wreath - How To Make A Condolence Wreath With Dried Maple Leaves
“Destroying is a necessary function in life. Everything has its season and all things eventually lose their effectiveness and die”
Margaret J. Wheatley
Death not only destroys the effectiveness of things but also causes irreparable loss to the near and dear ones of the dead. Someone has very correctly said that death is more the affair of those left behind than the dead. Life suddenly loses its meaning for theme. We cannot bring back the departed from their world of eternal peace but can surely strive to console the bereaved family and friends. Condolence wreaths help to apply a soothing balm on the burning hearts.
Sheet moss
Artificial or dried red maple leaves
Sprigs of yellow and orange maple leaves.
Smaller yellow and green maple leaf sprigs
Small mum flowers (dark orange)
Artificial sunflowers (about 1 –1/2” diameter)
Dried roses, zinnia
Rice flowers, fern
1. Soak the sheet moss in warm water for a few minutes and take it out. Cut it into few wide strips and cover the wreath with them.
2. Deciding the correct placement for your flowers is very important for this wreath. Make sure that the position is quite pleasing. Use hot glue to attach some of the maple leaves in the lower semi-circle and the rest in the upper semi-circle of the wreath
2. Make 3 small bunches of the orange mum flowers and tie with raffia. Secure the bunches with florist wire and attach to the wreath at equal intervals.
3. Make 3 bunches of sunflowers and attach in similar manner.
4. Make 3-4 bunches of roses and zinnia and attach to the remaining blank spaces of the wreath.
5. Decorate the wreath tastefully with sprigs of rice flowers and fern and your wreath is ready.
Your labor of love will definitely touch the hearts of the grieving family
